Birminham Club Grade National Final

Colcolchester gymnast, Charolette Volf, was part of the East region team for the Club Grade National Finals in Birminhams the weekend of 26th and 27 April 2008.

The competition at 4 levels was spread out over 2 days. Charlotte in Grade 3, on Sunday, was competing in the second of three rounds at this level. The team was under pressure from the start as both East teams in Grade 4 and 2 had won on the Saturday.

All 4 girls competing well and with consisting scores from all. After the second round the East team were ini Silver medal place just 0.4 marks behind the leaders. They now had to sit and watch the last round to see if any of the other teams could overhaul their score.

When the girls marched on for thep resentation they still did not know if they had done enough for a medal but the team had been good enough to keep second place and silver medals.

Club Grades Regional Final - Grade 5 & 6

Age 8 years (grade 6)

Natasha Males came equal 10th with 61.700

Age 9 - 10 years (grade 6)

Kimberley Rayment came 7th scoring 61.050

Age 9 - 11 years (grade 5)

Imogen Mohammed came 7th scoring 59.950

Megan Beattie came 15th scoring 57.600

Age 11+ years (grade 6)

Megan Shahdin came 6th scoring 59.950

Age 12+ years (grade 5)

Emma Burley brought home a bronze medal scoring 56.150

Tara Smith came 7th scoring 54.150

British Schools Apparatus Championships

Newcastle

Jessica Hill was part of the East Regional Team that travelled to Newcastle to compete.

The team did well coming 4th overall.

Jessica came 25th overall with the following scores

Sunday 2nd March

Maisie Corton was in The Regional round of

Compulsory Grade 4 on Sunday morning.

She cane third "Bronze medal" and now represents the

Region at the National finals in Birmingham on the weekend of the

3 & 4 May 2008.

She joins Charlotte Volf who is competing for the

Region the previous weekend in club grade 3 final also in Birmingham.

Grade 3 Girls

Charlotte Volf came 3rd with distinction scoring 46.90

Molly Palmer came 7th with a score of 46.30

Sophie Groves came 11th with 45.05

Finnley Claridge-Lawrence came 17th with 42.75

Well done to all the girls and also

well done to Charlotte who has now qualified for the

National Final for Grade 3 Teams in Birmingham!

Temar Hadtezeht came 29th scoring 43.900

The club and coaches want to say how proud they are of their girls in this competition after competing well in the group of 43.
